High security locks are designed to provide a high level of security & protection. Standard lock cylinders are easy to break into & pick open whereas high security locks are pick resistant. The design of the high security lock makes it more difficult for a burglar or anyone to pick open. The other benefit is the key itself, you may notice or have seen these keys before which are labeled with "DO NOT DUPLICATE", this means only the locksmith that has your authority file can duplicate your key & you must be the authorized person or be listed as an authorized person to get a copy of this key made, after proof of identification. If you take your key to another locksmith they will tell you they cannot duplicate it. They also will not have the key blank to make a copy .
Lastly, high security locks are significantly more expensive than regular cylinders, but in the long-term you will be saving money. You won't have to worry about replacing or repairing damaged locks & you might even save money on your property insurance if you advise your provider that you have installed this type of lock!
